Sound guided Proprioceptive exercises
These proprioceptive exercises are inspired by Gerda Alexander’s Eutony and are intended to enhance consciousness awareness of internal sensations and the feeling of your body’s position and movement in space. These are not Hanna Somatic muscular pandiculations but may facilitate muscular relaxation.
Please lay comfortably on your back with your eyes closed. Be aware that the use of background drones, environmental sounds, and/or guided sound effects could make you feel slightly woozy or sleepy. This is an indication that your brain wave patterns may have synchronized into a theta state of deep relaxation. Extra time is allotted at the end of each exercise to slowly come out of that state.
In this exercise you relax each part of your body, one by one, by sensing the space inside your body and allowing it to let go of tension.
In this exercise you sense going from a passive state to moving, holding, releasing, and back to a passive state.
In this exercise you experience contact between your body and the outside world using first-person, second-person, and third-person perspectives.
In this exercise you notice sensations, such as warmth or tingling, as “current” and pass those feelings to other parts of your body.
In this exercise you practice passing sensations of current in a circular fashion throughout your body.
